Dr Muimeleli Magwabeni
Specialist Psychiatrist & Founder, Mela Wellness Collective
Dr Magwabeni provides a calm and compassionate space for healing and transformation. Her practice honours the quiet beginnings of recovery and the strength it takes to grow. Dr Magwabeni supports those navigating mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, workplace and financial stress, and the ongoing work of finding balance — not as a perfect state, but as a series of choices that honour what matters most in each season. She walks alongside her patients as they rediscover their strength, purpose, and capacity to thrive.

A Journey of Service and Care
Dr Magwabeni is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and holds specialist qualifications in Psychiatry. She brings extensive experience across both public and private healthcare settings, with a career shaped by service, depth, and a strong commitment to patient-centred care.

She subsequently held a joint appointment with the University of Pretoria and Weskoppies Hospital during her postgraduate training, where she completed her Master of Medicine (MMed) in Psychiatry. She is also a Fellow of the College of Psychiatrists of South Africa (FC Psych) through the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa.

“I meet people where they are. Everyone carries their own story and their own strengths. Mental health care works best when it fits the person, not the other way around. Together, we move toward understanding, healing, and growth.”
